Message From The Chair
Although, everyone was sitting around and waiting for summer to show up, the OFLSE committee has been busy putting things in place for the fall and beyond.
Both new and existing committee members have blended together with one common goal of moving the OFLSE forward while obtaining resources and training opportunities for all.
- Creating new and cutting edge public education materials, which are now available for FPW on the OFLSE website! All free and editable.
- Delivering training in Eastern Ontario (Kingston) ‘From the Ground Up – 2.0’ – A sold out training session
- OFC Fall conference agenda has been finalized. A reminder: ensure that you bring a lap top or tablet as one training session will require you to have access to social media sites live while in training.
- With a massive overhaul of the spring conference by the OAFC, the committee is working to once again provide engaging, cutting edge training to meet the needs of Ontario fire department educators
Start reflecting on your community’s outreach programs or a program from a neighboring community that you think should be nominated for the ‘Program of the Year’.
Stay tuned as we will be working toward a new campaign for 2018, just in time for the garage sale season!
Good luck as we try to change behaviors and bring awareness to our communities during Fire Prevention Week!
